Amit Shah Urges Respect for All Indian Languages on Hindi Diwas

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a message on Hindi Diwas (September 14), called for respect toward all Indian languages, including Hindi. He appealed for everyone to move forward together toward a self-reliant, self-confident, developed India.

Role of Languages in Unity

Shah said from the high Himalayas to the southern beaches, deserts and forests, India’s diversity of languages has helped people stay connected, organized and express culture and tradition. He noted that India is fundamentally a language-oriented nation where languages carry forward culture, history, science, philosophy and spirituality from one generation to another.

Call to Action

He emphasized that languages should be companions of one another, bound by unity, rather than sources of division. Shah said the greatest strength of India’s languages is providing every class and community an opportunity for expression. He asked citizens to respect all languages, including Hindi, and use them with pride.
