Amit Shah to Open Anti-Terror Conference in Delhi
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to inaugurate a two-day Anti-Terror Conference in New Delhi on 26 December 2025. The conference is being organised by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) along with the Ministry of Home Affairs, and will bring together officials from security, law enforcement, forensic science and counter-terrorism agencies to discuss strategies to strengthen India’s response to evolving terror threats. The event is expected to focus on operational coordination, legal frameworks, emerging technologies and best practices for combating terrorism.
Goals of the Conference
Officials said the Anti-Terror Conference aims to improve collaboration among central and state agencies, share intelligence, and build consensus on measures to prevent extremist violence and terror incidents. The conference is part of ongoing efforts to refine India’s counter-terror architecture and reinforce a “zero-tolerance” approach to terrorism.
Context of Security Challenges
India has faced several terror incidents in recent years, including the deadly Pahalgam attack in April 2025, in which militants killed 26 civilians at a popular tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting persistent security challenges. Such events have underscored the need for continuous dialogue, policy updates and inter-agency cooperation to deter and respond to terror threats effectively.
Officials expect the conference to set the agenda for future policy actions and reinforce India’s commitment to national security and public safety.
