Immediately upon arrival, Amit Shah chaired a high-level security meeting that included Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Senior officials from intelligence and paramilitary agencies were also in attendance. The meeting focused on assessing the current threat landscape, identifying gaps in intelligence, and formulating a robust action plan to prevent further attacks.
Shah instructed security agencies to intensify combing operations and enhance protection for tourist zones, places of worship, and sensitive installations. He emphasized the need for better coordination between central and local security forces.
Enhanced Security Measures Nationwide
In the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, security has been tightened across major metropolitan cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and various districts in Uttar Pradesh. Vigilance has been increased at airports, railway stations, and religious sites. State police forces have been placed on high alert, and additional paramilitary personnel have been deployed in Kashmir to assist in counterterror operations.
