Al-Falah University Hired Doctors Without Police Verification
Authorities investigating the November 2025 Red Fort area blast have found that Al-Falah University in Faridabad employed several doctors without conducting mandatory police verification or background checks before hiring them as faculty or medical staff. The discovery was made by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a chargesheet filed in a Delhi court as part of a money-laundering case against the university’s promoter and its charitable trust.
Doctors Linked to Blast Hired Without Scrutiny
Among those appointed were doctors who are now suspects in the Red Fort blast probe, including individuals arrested by the National Investigation Agency and at least one accused of carrying out the attack itself. University officials told investigators that these doctors were approved for appointment without police clearance, and some were listed as faculty “on paper” to meet regulatory staffing requirements.
Legal Action and Asset Attachment
The ED has named the chairman of the Al-Falah Group and the Al-Falah Charitable Trust in its 260-page chargesheet under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), alleging misuse of funds and misrepresentation of academic credentials. The agency has also provisionally attached university land and buildings worth around ₹140 crore as part of the ongoing investigation.
Broader Scrutiny
These revelations have added to wider scrutiny of the university’s hiring practices and regulatory compliance, prompting calls for stricter vetting of academic and medical staff at private institutions nationwide.
