Adani Announces Two 1,000‑Bed AI Hospitals

The Adani Group has announced plans to enter the healthcare sector by building two advanced, 1,000‑bed hospitals in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Chairman Gautam Adani revealed this initiative at a medical conference, aiming to combine cutting-edge technology with affordable care under the theme “Adani Healthcare Temples”.

₹60,000 crore Commitment

Adani confirmed that the Adani family has committed ₹60,000 crore toward social infrastructure, which will support these hospitals. They will be developed through Adani’s not-for-profit healthcare arm, marking the group’s largest philanthropic investment in healthcare to date.

Partnership with Mayo Clinic

Adani is partnering with the U.S.-based Mayo Clinic, which will provide expertise in clinical practices, hospital design, artificial intelligence, and research integration. The hospitals are expected to set new standards in patient care, medical training, and research innovation.

AI‑First Integrated Health Campuses

Each campus will feature an integrated health model: a 1,000‑bed super‑specialty hospital linked to a teaching medical college, offering modern infrastructure, advanced diagnostic labs, and AI-powered systems for real-time patient monitoring. The focus will be on affordability, accessibility, and using AI in operations and diagnostics.

Focus on Inclusive Healthcare

A key goal is to offer quality medical services to under-served communities, including rural areas. Proposed features include mobile surgical units and AI-driven diagnostic tools for spinal health, addressing regional health challenges through technology-enabled outreach.

Timeline and Expansion Plans

The first two hospitals in Mumbai and Ahmedabad will be followed by more campuses across India. Each hospital will include medical colleges admitting hundreds of students, alongside research centres and wellness facilities. Precise timelines have not been disclosed but development is expected to begin soon.

Why It Matters

India faces a shortage of modern healthcare infrastructure. Adani’s project signals a shift in private investment into large-scale hospital infrastructure. By leveraging technology and global collaboration, these hospitals could improve access, reduce import dependence, generate employment, and support India’s goal of healthcare self-reliance.
