Abhishek Sharma Alleges Personal Attacks From Pakistan
In India’s Super 4 Asia Cup 2025 clash against Pakistan, Indian batter Abhishek Sharma revealed that some Pakistani players, including fast bowlers, made personal remarks toward him and his teammates. He said such comments were inappropriate and went against the spirit of cricket.
Umpire Intervenes
The incident came to light during the fifth over when Sharma and Haris Rauf got into a heated exchange. On-field umpire Gazi Sohel had to step in to calm things down. Similar tensions were also reported earlier in the innings between Shubman Gill and Shaheen Afridi.
Response After the Win
Following India’s six-wicket victory, Sharma said he chose to “teach them a lesson” with his performance rather than respond verbally. He stressed that the remarks directed at him were “personal attacks” and had nothing to do with cricketing competition.
