2 Terrorists Killed In Kupwara Encounter

Two militants were killed by Indian security forces during an operation in the Keran sector of the Kupwara district early on Saturday, according to official sources. The encounter was part of an anti-infiltration drive codenamed “Operation Pimple”.

Encounter Details

Acting on precise intelligence inputs about an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control, the Indian Army launched a search operation in the dense forests of Keran. During the ensuing gunfight, two terrorists were eliminated. Security personnel recovered assault rifles, ammunition, and other war-like stores from the site. The area has been cordoned off for further sanitisation operations.

Broader Context

The Kupwara encounter marks the latest in a series of anti-terror operations aimed at preventing infiltration from across the border before winter sets in. Officials say militant groups have been trying to push in fighters amid deteriorating weather conditions. Security forces remain on high alert across the region to thwart such attempts.
