The minor, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, was taken into custody in Punjab following intelligence inputs about suspicious online communications.

Allegations Linked to Online Contact

According to police officials, the teenager is suspected of having shared information of security relevance through digital platforms. Investigators believe the contact was established online and that the minor may have been influenced or lured through social media channels. Authorities said electronic devices used by the boy are being examined as part of the probe.

Legal Process Under Juvenile Law

Police clarified that the boy has been detained under provisions applicable to juveniles and is being dealt with in accordance with the Juvenile Justice Act. Officials said the focus at this stage is on understanding the nature of the communications, the intent behind them, and whether any third parties were involved in facilitating contact.

Ongoing Investigation

Security agencies are continuing their investigation to determine the extent of information allegedly shared and to identify any wider network or handlers involved. Police have said the case highlights growing concerns over minors being targeted online for unlawful activities.

Advisory and Precaution

Authorities have reiterated the need for parents and guardians to monitor online activity and raise awareness about the risks of engaging with unknown contacts on digital platforms. Further action in the case will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
